Incarcerated Citizens vote

I participated with the registeration of those who were incarcerated at the Jackson County jail but had not been convicted. 70 incarcerated citizens voted absentee. Please keep informing those who may be in a similiar situation, or who may have served their sentence, is not on probation or parole, that they are eligible to register and vote. They do not need any special papers. They do need I. D. just like every body else.

Legal assistance needed

If you or someone you know can assist us by reviewing some cases to see if there is any thing available to the individuals who are incarcerated I would be most grateful. The back ground work has been done. There are facts that were not entered into the court proceedings. We have spoken with the Prosecutors office and the State Attorney General. They are not interested. If there is anyone that can assist us please let me know. We are volunteers but we are not…

New Post on Black Like Moi.

Pepsi Beverages Co. has agreed to pay $3.1 million to settle federal charges of race discrimination for using criminal background checks to screen out job applicants-even if they weren't convicted of a crime. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which is working to crackdown on hiring policies that can hurt blacks and Hispanics, said Wednesday that the company's policy of not hiring workers with arrest records disproportionately excluded more than 300 black applicants. The policy…

Debtors Prisons

Although debtors prisons have been illegal sinse the 1800's, several States are engaged in arrest of persons who for various reasons cannot pay a bill. This has happened in Kansas City, Missouri. If you are experiencing problems because of loss of job, high medical bills etc. you may want to contact a legal service, and talk with someone about your situation. Hopefully there will not be any issues to deal with, but seek assistance if you feel you need to.

Alvin Kirksey-Bey

It is with a deeply heavy heart that I post the notice of the passing of a friend and fellow soldier for justice, Alvin Kirksey-Bey. Alvin served 25 years in the Department of Corrections for a crime he did not committ. Alvin's example of life after unjust incarceration is an example of the power of the Spirit and human will to survice and thrive. Alvin set an example to be admired as he went about his work of continuing to fight for equal justice under the law. He will be missed by his KKFI…

103 Murders

To date there has been 103 murders in Kansas City Missouri. It is time for very serious investigations to be done as to how the guns and drugs are coming into this community. The schools are failing, the family unit is being destroyed, neighborhoods are almost non-existant except for a few families. There are too many abandoned buildings, and boarded up houses. Trash and junk everywhere. It is time to say enough is enough and mean it. I am interested in hearing from anyone who wants to do…
